Lend Me Your WingsTook solace in silence,Lend Me Your Wings
And comfort, alone. For the dreams, they have left us,
To face the unknown.
Blame should be forgotten In that whimsical place,
And all Fears should be banished,
And all Angers, erased.
There, beauty surrounds, The music resounds, The contentment astounds, -- then jolts, now awake -- We laid blame for mistakes.
That's why we're cast out -- Filled with Blame, Anger, Doubt --
We're causing the shortage -- We're causing the drought --
The dreams have run dry.
Now,

DinosaursI see Michael Parker that first morning back. I think Im imagining him. He has the same face, the same eyes, but the scruff of whiskers is gone from his cheeks and his untidy hair is neatly trimmed and combed. We make eye contact briefly, but then a group of people entering the church moves between us, and I cant find him again.Dinosaurs
As the service begins I realize that this is the pew where I sat during the first Sunday in my memory. I remember it because the new wood of the arm gave me a splinter, and that afternoon during my fourth birthday party my father took away a plastic Brachiosaurus seconds after I unwrapped it.
The lights died out, pale goes the sun
And thus, another day is done.
Another lonely battle won.
Now, there, along the dusk-rimmed cliffs
is heard echoes of lonely riffs
which float above the crashing wves
reflecting ancient sunken graves
of those who couldn't, didn't care to be saved
assuming the path would be pave
So, from the sky, a mournful cry,
reminding the world that time can die
and leave lost the moments for saying goodbye.
A snickersnack, unknown attack, and history is done
flickering lights, misplaced flight, and pale goes the sun.
so go ahead and curl right up and cry yourself to sleep
'cause tomorrow's never gonna come, might as well just weep
there's just tonight, no time to keep,
so close your eyes, don't dream, just sleep.
'Cause sure as hell you won't wake up
may as well pretend and make up

Signature block limit 255 characters.. (2^8)-1. Not sure why. I suppose it limits length alright. But so would (2^7)-1 (127).
It's like the quiet intermittence of my pulse,
Like the soft insistence of remembering to breathe.

It's a shame dA doesn't have many prose readers. People here don't tend to like reading long things (or short things, even). They're missin' out.
